I could be doing anything - even typing this now with only Chrome open, and the screen would go off and I would hear the GPU fans come to a halt.

I tried updating the drivers, seemed to work, played for hours, aaand black screen. I don't get an error message, but the actual box seems to be on - just no desplay output.

Kind of annoying after just spending over £300 on this.

Any help or ideas are appreciated :)

Solution

Try DDU from 3dguru to remove drivers, use another PC/ lappy to download, your GPU drivers are not installed correctly, make a "clean uninstall" and then intall fresh drivers from the scratch. it will be done.

Just in case it does not, pl come back and report.

Yeah, the temperatures are fine, idling at around 30-35 degrees, around 55-60 under loud (Heaven benchmark and GTA V Max settings).

Happy to help, let us have a 3 day report :D

Making a clean system restore point is also advised after 48 hrs of successful run.

I RMA'd my card and picked up a 970, no problems anymore.
