I have an XFX R9 Fury card that doesn’t work properly. I have a whole other thread about the issue here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-3406854/xfx-fury-diagnosis-repair-advice.html
But basically the issue is that the display cuts out in windows as soon as the display driver is installed. I have confirmed 100% that it is the display driver install that causes this by manually installing the inf file through device manager and it cuts out at the exact moment the driver is being installed. I know this is a bad sign but the fact that the display is 100% perfect (no artifacts) in the BIOS and even in Windows if I force the Microsoft Basic Display Driver makes me think there just may be hope that the actual hardware of the card might just be ok?
Is it at all possible that a botched VGA BIOS on the card could cause this kind of behaviour? As the item was from Amazon Warehouse, I was wondering if someone might have tried to apply a Fury X BIOS to it that it didn’t like?
Is there any way I can interrogate the card to see what BIOS it is running?
Is there any means I could get hold of and Flash the original BIOS into it to see if this fixes my problem?
