R9 Nano or GTX 980 G1 Gaming

I'm in a situation where I could get a R9 Nano or a GTX 980 G1 for the same price. (350 euros) So the problem is, that the R9 Nano gets more fps in almost every every game when stock but when both are overclocked, the GTX 980 G1 gets better fps, sometimes by 2fps or even 10. (I will overclock as well). But people keep telling that:"R9 Nano is so much better and it beats a GTX 980 in almost every game but benchmarks say something else. (And I have looked several benchmarks from different sites and youtubers). And of course the fact that the R9 Nano supports DX12 and so many people say, that, when more games support DX12, the R9 Nano will beat a GTX 980 like there's no contest." (And some will even go and say that: R9 Nano can sometimes beat a GTX 980 Ti" Which I'm pretty sure isn't true). Also the lack of R9 Nano benchmarks makes this harder. (Reason being that it costs so much elsewhere, currently).

Solution

Well if that is the case then get the GTX 980. I always recalled the Nano going ahead but it's been a while since I have looked at any particular benchmarks.

Yeah, looking back at the review it seems you are right http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-radeon-r9-nano,4285-5.html I apologize for my mistake.

Though in that Toms review the 980 is OC and the Nano is not. I think once the Nano is OC they should be very close. In that case, I'd probably just get a GTX 980...

Not currently, I could buy a 1060 right now but it would be 40 euros more expensive (There will be one that will cost 290 euros but that's coming in a week and I simply have no time and I'm on a budget).

In what way? As I said, the R9 Nano loses in fps to the GTX 980 G1 in almost every game when both of those cards are overclocked. Could I get some evidence to that statement?

Ok, well thanks for helping me make my mind. I will be going with the GTX 980 G1 Gaming and thanks for that extra evidence.
