I have just bought a new graphic card, a radeon excalibur 9800pro.
when i turn on the computer with the new card installed, the monitor is still in stand-by modus, the computer is going but my monitor is still blank
my hardware is: a kr7a-133 motherboard, amd1800+, 512 ddr ram, 360w chieftech psu and a 19" hansol monitor. i have upgraded my bios but it didnt help. the card worked in another computer, so it aint broken.

does anyone know whats wrong??

Is the mb's AGP 4x?
Is the videocard firmly connected?
The monitor connector is firmly connected to the videocard?

Yea that has tripped me up a couple of times lately too. Messing with an old comp last night I thought the video card was in, got no display, puzzled over a lot of stuff for a few minutes then realized the slot cover on the graphics card was jammed just enough with the case where it was wedged slightly out of place (cockeyed) when I installed it.

Make sure you turn off power before you mess with it. my computer actually turned on when I jiggled the card into possition. Was glad nothing fried in the process. :>)
