Racing game with lots of cars and part to upgrade and tune????Please

I have a dual core so nothing to fancy but I need a racing game for pc with a lot of cars, parts, and tuning.

A plus would be drifting, but more cars and parts and lots of tuning are the most important things to me, graphics I don't care about as long as they're not horrid... Please, I've been craving one forever and My PS is down, KO.

Need For Speed Shift is good.
It is a racing game like the early NFS games, without police chases and that sort of thing.
Shift 2 is the new one, but you will pick up Shift cheaper and it is probably better for a low end PC.

Depends If you want Track racing or City Racing I suppose,

GTR 2 is a track racing, Kinda like Forza motorsport but you can fine tune the engine etc, this game is my personal favourite...

I also recommend 'Driver'. It's more like Need for Speed, cop chases, missions, Blah, the works. You can't exactly customise the car but you can add more boost for example.
