Radeon 64mb DDR

Just a quick post, only need confirmation really.

Ive heard a rumour that the OEM version of this card has been clocked down from the usual 183mhz clock, to a slower but still acceptable 166 clock (as per the 32mb DDR). wheras the retail version is the full 183mhz

is this true? If it is, i will shell out the extra £30 needed for the retail

Is this a personal problem that i have, or do people not reply to my posts simply because my question isnt "technical" enough...

I really nead this information before i purchase the card tomorrow, and so it would be greatly appreciated if some kind person can reply to my first post...

yes it's true, but I hear that the oems can be over clocked to the normal retail setting without a problem, just make sure you cool it down

thanks, thats what i wanted to know, but do you know if ati just took the same chip and "underclocked" it as it were, or whether they took the slower chip from the 32mb DDR.

If they did just underclock it, then no additional cooling will be required...

just a thought
