Radeon 6850 HD help

So a graphics card i ordered arrived this morning, i followed a few online guides and read the instructions to install it, did that and when i insert the CD after turning the computer on it says

'unable to detect an XFX product at this time', it let's me click ok and continues anyway but then after selecting a language it says

'please go to xfxforce.com for the optimized driver'

i can hear the graphics card working because it sounds different but what do i do if it won't install via the CD?

i've gone to that site, and registered my product and downloaded something but i'm stil not sure what to do, can you help me?

thank you i've put my information in the drop down list and i will download what it's telling me to download

I downloaded it, and got a AMD vision engine control center, still the CD will ask for optimised driver instead of installing the graphics card

i chose the 6000 series in the dropdown lists because it's a 6850 card, but when i go to computer and system properties / display adapters is says radeon 3100 graphics, is that normal? should i choose 3000 series?

You shouldnt need the CD for anything other then some utilities that come with it. The drivers and control center come from AMDs website. When you d/l the Vision Engine you should have gotten the drivers for the 6850 too.

By the sounds of it that 3100 is integrated video. What motherboard do you have? List specs.

RAM : 4.00 GB
Motherboard is Foxconn A7VMX-K model

the card that i took out to replace the 6850 was ATI Radeon HD 4350

Are you referring to the CD that comes with the card? You shouldn't need a CD at this point for the 6850.
