Radeon 6850 on PCIe 1.1 motherboard?

Hello,
I'm thinking of getting a temporary graphics card upgrade for my old system, to hold me over until I can afford a new complete system. My PSU is a Rasurbo 530 W unit, so I'm leaning towards the Radeon HD 6850 as about the most powerful it would handle well. Then I could move it over to my new system later and still have a decent graphics card (and perhaps the option of Crossfiring it if 6850s are still available).

But I'm wondering if there's a problem with installing it in a system that only supports PCIe 1.1. The PSU does have a 6-pin power connector available, but will that plus the PCIe port be enough for the 6850?
The bandwidth of PCIe 1.1 is lower and I guess that would hamper the performance a bit too, but how bad is that likely to be?
