Radeon 6870 - No video & Fan stuck at 100%

Hello, I just bought a graphic card Radeon 6870, previously had a GTX 260

My PSU is at 630W, I tested the new card, but when I boot the pc, there is No video & Fan stuck at 100%

I have the BIOS updated to the last version, and correctly configurar with PCI-E from Bios,

I find it strange that I cant run this card, buy i can run it with the GTX 260 who uses more PSU

Any idea?

any solution will be of great help, thanks

hmm i don't know which cpu your using it right now.
But go head try this web site.

this site will tell you how much psu you need for your system.
Other then that looks fine to me.
Please double check your main board that can handle last graphic card in market.

did you uninstall the nvidia drivers before installing the 6870

Well seeing as I had this with my 5870 I would guess the 4 or 6 pin power plugs are not plugged in. My video card did this when I first turned my new machine on and forgot to plug those power plugs into the card.

Yes, Uninstalling from control panel, and using Driver cleaner and Ccleaner

First thing I would do is with the power off remove the card, reinstall it making sure all snaps in correctly. The blade should lock in with the PCi slot keeper and the two 6 pin connectors should be all the way seated in. Ya I know basic. Boot windows and see if the card works. The fan control in the Cat. Cntrl. Cntr. may be set to 100% manual control? You don't need the AMD drivers for the card to work. Win7 has native ones that should let the card display. If after checking the connections the card does not work and the 260 did in the same slot, bet you got a bad card.

The is that the Screen dont display nothing when i boot. one question

power cables it is normal to go through the motherboard?

I mean, leave the power wires to the motherboard, and motherboard to graphics card

No not with that card. It requires additional power connections from the power supply directly. If you look at the edge opposite from the side that goes into the slot; towards the back corner are 2 sockets made to receive 6 pin power connectors each. You must connect the two six pin power leads from the PS there or the card will not work.
