Hello,
I cannot get dual monitor setup going.
My graphics card (Radeon 6950 2GB) has 5 display connections (2x mini display port, 1x hdmi, 1x dual link dvi-i and 1x single link dvi-d).
The monitors I'm using are Benq xl2411z (has vga/hdmi and dvi) and LG Flatron E2240S (only has vga).
With the cables I have I tried this setup:
I have connected Benq with Dual link cable provided with monitor to DVI-I slot on the graphics card and it works just fine. I have tried connecting LG with vga cable through d-sub/dvi adapter to the single link dvi-d port but it's not being recognized by windows/ati catalyst.
Both monitors work just fine when I connect them individually, but only the one connected to dvi-i dual link port works with 2 of them on.
Is there a way to get this setup (monitors & graphics card) going? If so do I need different cables/adapters (benq needs to be connected through dvi dual link to work on 144hz which is what I would prefer). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Solution
I havent found hdmi to vga adapters to work correctly (because hdmi is digital and Vga is analogue), but you can try if you want to risk it.
You need to use the Dual link dvi port for the 144hz monitor, but if thats the DVI-I connection then thats the only one that can carry the vga signal also (DVI-D is digital only....

Are you sure the Dvi-D is only single link?

You could try using mini display port -> Dual link DVI for the benq, and the DVI-I -> VGA for the LG

So will sth like this:

Benq: mini dp port on graphics card + mini dp to DVI adapter (is this correct? http://www.komputronik.eu/product/280726/Electronics/Accessories_Exploitation/LogiLink_DisplayPort.html) and dvi dual link cable to dvi port in monitor.
LG: DVI-I dual link port on graphics card + DVI to VGA adapter to VGA port in monitor.

Would I be able to still use 144hz in that connection setup?
