Radeon 7870 or 7950 or nvidia counterpart?

I currently have an i5 3570k and a mobo with dual pcie 3.0 8x/8x support for crossfire. I have a monitor with a resolution of 1440x900p, and yes I know that either of these cards is complete overkill for that resolution *but overkill is great for gaming huh?* but Im a hardcore gamer, playing BF3,WoW,GW2,PS2,and upcoming crysis 3 religiously. I hope to be able to max out my graphics and everything with these cards, but Im worried as if I should just get a radeon 7950 to be more future proof to when I get a 1080p monitor *hopfully pretty soon* or should I just go with the cheaper alternative 7870 and be able to max it out, or should I just go with a nvidia 660ti? Im not a huge fan of nvidia but if its better performance I could give it a go.

The 7950 is probably the best bang for the buck graphics card near the higher end of the scale right now. With 3GB of video memory, a full 256 bit bus and often models come with dual-bios so you can flash your card to overclocked frequencies, plus AMD is throwing in free games, go with either the Gigabyte 7950 or Sapphire or even MSI.

With 3GB of video memory, a full 256 bit bus and often models come with dual-bios so you can flash your card to overclocked frequencies, plus AMD is throwing in free games, go with either the Gigabyte 7950 or Sapphire or even MSI.
