Yeah, i don't have SLi atm :(
My bro needs a gpu..

SLi'ing 480s  that seems dangerous, could start up a sauna business though.

Haha but no seriously what are your temps now?

Edit: I personally would grab a 7970 since its 100 bucks cheaper for maybe 5-10% less performance.

GTX 680 all the way. Please take into account that the gtx 680 OC is just a very few bucks more expensive than the normal 680, also remember that the drivers for the 680 are just too new so it's real capability wont be shown until 6 months from now (even the last drivers for the 400 - 500 series kept showing performance improvement after 1 year until it's very end).

Well I'm not saying the card is at 50% of it's real capability or anything, I'm just saying the drivers matter a lot, and the 680's are just too new, specially in SLI. I had 2 gtx 460's in sli and trust me , the performance difference between the 270's drivers and 290's was huge. The 7970 is an awesome card, the lightning version from MSI is a beauty, but it's just not better than the 680. Sorry

Huh who's looking for a fight? I mention the lightning verions 'cause is one of the OC 7970's around . I understand your bang for the buck 'cause is the same I do with AMD processors, but I just know intel is the best. Anyway I'm done here, gotta go to work. Peace

GTX 680. It's faster and better. And if you're spending $500 on a graphics card, you shouldn't be looking at performance/price ratio. Performance is all that matters at that prices, and that's what GTX 680 wins at. Also, not like it's terrible bang for the buck either, only 2% difference.

680 wins at low res and stock frequencies. 7970 is better at high res and overclocking. IMO any comment that heavily favours one side or the other is strictly fan boy. They are both great cards.
