I'm thinking of buying a Radeon 9600XT and have found one for £99 from
Komplett. Could anybody tell me what the difference is between the £105
version and the £99 lite version.

Thanks

Jim

One could be retail packaging, the other could be OEM (also called bulk or
white box).
OEM is usually the bare card and a driver CD
OEM products may not have as long a warranty.

Software, generally, Jim. I presume since you're quoting £ prices,
you're in the UK, so you'll be talking OEM cards. You'll have to be
more manufacturer specific if you want a more specific answer, but
generally, lite versions AFAIK will have the same connectors (and
specs, of course) as the full version of the same card, but will not
have the software suite: often only a driver disk. The full version
will have other software (extra apps, games etc) included and, in the
case of AIW and VIVO cards, multimedia software.

If the vending site doesn't say, check the OEM manufacturer's site.

if you want a 9600xt i`d go for the sapphire card. i have the `fireblade`
version of it and it`s excellent (has slightly faster DDR). powercolor cards
crop up on the ng`s all the time with probs.

The Sapphire should be a good card, Jim. Is the lite also a Sapphire?
Then check http://www.sapphiretech.com/ to find out the difference
between the versions.

Sounds like mine, great card. Noisy fan though, and no
hardware-monitoring on board. Also no overdrive.
