Just got me a Radeon 9700 pro. The thing runs great cept for two things.

1) Anti Aliasing doesn't work
2) When I turn my computer on, my motherboard beeps that there's no display adapter present. But if I hit the reset button while the power on, then it works fine.

Do you's think it's a power supply issue? Mine is only 300W.

Also, I got my drivers off ATI's website. Was that a good idea? I'm also running an old system. AMD 1400mhz with a KG7 motherboard.

Any advice would be appreciated.

lol, sorry for the misspellings

Don't know about the AA problem, but my 9700pro with an Abit m.b. does the exact same thing with the beeps, see the "fried card?" post I made. I believe this an inherint problem with Abit m.b.'s. ATI addresses this issue in their faq's about the 8500pro 128mb. ATI says to change the AGP aperture size in the Bios, using another card of course, and check for an updated Bios. If that doesn't work another m.b. is recommened. Mine still emits the beeps and I have to reset. I am going to build a new system this week with an Asus m.b., hopefully that will eliminate my problems.

I hope this helps you out as others replies help me.

P.S. This card kicks butt though! With an AMD 1800+, 512 2100 DDR I get 11,000+/- on 3DMark 2001. I was getting just over 7000 with my "old" GF3. Can't wait to see the score with the Intel 2.4G with 1G 2700 DDR

Only if you uninstalled your previous drives before you installed the newer ones.

My ATI 9000 problems were cleared up when I cleared the BIOS. Now I have no problems at all.

weird, I get no beeps or anything and using the Abit TH7-II board with the 9700PRO, but running a 550W power supply.

I would try a stronger power supply first (friends come handy, cost less than buying one and finding out it's not it)

Even though ATi states that they "recomend" a 300W PSU, this is the absoulut minimum and personally I wouldn´t buy a Radeon 9700Pro without getting a decent PSU along with it.
