Radeon CCC Over clocking

I over clocked my XFX radeon r9 290X GPU with the catalyst control centre on my PC. I put the settings up too high and my screen went black. The desktop still boots up but when it loads my GPU settings, the screen goes black. How do I reset the settings without being able to see anything on the screen?

Sadly, I don't think the XFX r9 290x has a dual-bios feature, but you might be able to boot into Windows Safe Mode, then you may be able to manipulate the hardware settings from there. You may have to go as far as to uninstall and reinstall the drivers.

If none of that works, yeah, it may be time to resort to a reformat. 🙁

Lesson learned: take it slow and easy. You can always increase your speed more after a small increase. If you jump too far ahead, you may not be able to take a step back.
