Is DX11 even relevant to such an entry-level card? Don't get me wrong, I would probably use this card if I was to build an HTPC, but is there any DX11 feature that is not related to gaming?
@Zenthar
The related DirectCompute 11 will almost certainly run on this card. Applications coded to use it will see a great speed gain. So, while DX 11 itself probably is useless at this low end, DC 11 will be a great advantage for the HD 5450 over comparable 4xxx cards.
Much better off waiting for the 55xx series cards due out in the next few weeks. They will have much better performance and should cost around £15-£25 more.
DX11 is pretty useless on a card that couldn't play games in high enough resolution to appreciate the nominal quality gains. ATI looks like they're trying to turn DX into a marketing gimmick.
Could this crossfire with my HD4870? So that way i could have some muscle behind this dinky feature filled card. I had DX11 before it came out (thanks to toms!
