I'm wondering which will perform better. A SAPPHIRE HD 5450 512MB DDR2 PCIE HDMI (http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=917&pid=313&psn=&lid=1) or the Intel HD graphics 2500 on my i5-3450. The Windows 8 experience index seems to like the integrated graphics better. I have 8 gigs of RAM, so memory isn't a problem and it's on the MSI Z77a-G41 mobo if that matters too. What do you think?

Neither of those is very good for gaming! The Radeon HD 5450 will most likely be slightly better there but for video transcoding the Intel HD graphics 2500 wins hands down. Both of those graphics solutions are extremely low end. What are you doing with the computer?

Thanks for the response. I'm looking to do some light gaming and overall performance. I already have both, so I'm just wondering which one I should use. What's video transcoding?

If you have both, then why not try them out for yourself in the games you plan to play.

I had the 5450 for a few years, I was able to play BO2 on it, my roomie is even playing FC3 with it right now, albeit low settings, but still capable of it. I doubt the intel could even get 5fps in FC3.
