I just recently got a new at radeon 5770 and it refuses to run games properly. However the card handles everything fps wise very very good. One of my main problems though is the small, freezing points it has.

What games I have tried to play: warframe, minecraft, watch dogs

How each game performed:
minecraft:excellent, no problems at all
warframe:close to unplayable, there is a very consistent slow down in fps, it happens every second, on the second
watch dogs: completely unplayable: very randomly it will freeze from anywhere from 10 to 60 seconds, the frequency of this seems to correlate to how I adjust the clock speed of the gpu on overdrive.

Specs:
cpu: intel pentium g620 2.6ghz
gpu: ati radeon hd 5770 1gb
psu: antec vp-450 450watt

In conclusion is there anything I can do to fix this? Any answers would be very much appreciated.

It might be as simple as your computer not being suited for games like warframe and watchdogs, if minecraft runs fine. Warframe isn't super demanding, but the 5770 is very old and not very powerful. For watchdogs the 5770 is listed as the absolute bare minimum for the game to even launch, and publishers tend to list system specs lower than what you really need to play it comfortably.

You could try turning graphics settings all the way down.

My computer can run this game very well, its just that it freezes at random intervals, I believe that this is related to the driver/ clock speed
