What spec monitor will give best results with this card by cpu is i7 not sure what speed to use

I'm not sure I understand the question. What resolution is the best for this card? Well, buying the latest card gets you great performance on all resolutions. This card will do 1920x1080 and 2560x1600 very well.

Is there an HD 5870 with only 512 MB? I haven't seen any.

I didn't know the 5870 existed with 512MB, but I wouldn't buy a card of that caliber with less than 1GB.
