My System Specification :
Motherboard : Intel DG41RQ
Processor : Pentium Dual-Core E5300 @ 2.60GHz
RAM : Transcend 2x2GB 800MHz 4-4-4-9
Power Supply : UMAX 450 Watts SMPS
Monitor : LG W1643C @ 1360x768
I can get two graphics cards -
1) MSI RADEON HD 6670 with 1GB GDDR5 @ INR 5400 ~ 108$
2) SAPPHIRE RADEON HD 6750 with 1GB GDDR5 @ INR 5900 ~ 118$
Also I don't want to change my PSU right now (I'll change it later) & i'm on a tight budget.
So which one is better choice for playing Crysis, S.t.a.l.k.e.r. Clear Sky, UT3 etc. at 1360x768 resolution at HIGH settings with 4xAA and 4xAF @ 30FPS+. I have seen many benchmarks at xbitlabs, techpowerup etc., but any information from someone with experience with the cards will be most welcome.

Despite the price difference, at that resolution you will find the 6750 to be MUCH superior to the 6670, and you are nearing the mid-high range of cards. The 6670 is okay for playing modern games, so long as you have things like AA disabelled. The second you throw 4xAA 4xAF in, the winner becomes clear rather quickly

source: my knowledge and passion. however I always like to back up what I say with some sort of link...

edit: the psu will not be a problem at all.

Thanks for the quick reply. UMAX is a generic PSU. I'm not sure it can continuously deliver 450Watts, rather it seems to be the peak power rating. It seems a branded PSU is needed (FSP SAGA, Cooler Master, Corsair...). The problem is, they are costly in INDIA, priced at almost 50-60$.

Even at a 450 Watt peak your still smooth sailing. If you can sustain 300 Watts you're still in the clear. The card itself under full load will only use ~85 Watts coupled with your CPU maxing at ~65 Watts that tallys to just 150 watts

I bought a Coolermaster Extreme Power Plus 600 W for 3000 INR or so. UMAX looks like one of those local cheap branded PSUs like zeberonics, iBall, Front tech and INTEX.

HD 6670 is slightly better than a HD 5670 and it doesn't need a PCI-e connector. HD 6750 is just a rebadged HD 5750. You won't see any performance difference with it.

Not certain where your getting it not needing a pci-e connector? or what that even means. 67xx series are typically rebadged 57xx series with a bit of power savings and tessellation goodness

^ Not exactly.
Apart from the HD 6750 and a HD 6770, almost all of the rest of the cards ( of the HD 6xxx) aren't the rebadged form of a HD 5xxx series. And when I mean it not needing a pci-e connector is that it doesn't require a supplementary power connector. It can do fine on satndard 300-350W PSUs. HD 6xxx series does a better job of handling DX11 tesselations and other features more better than the HD 5xxx does.

I'm just going off of benchies, not actual stats, in which case the 6850,70 are also super close. Bizzare how a 4870x2 essentially beats a 6870 in Dx9 games. HOWEVER to the point, I see you meant it didn't need any 6pin power connectors or anything of that matter.

I thought you were suggesting it worked fine in pci or agp or something unorthodox like that

NO ! That was not what I was saying.

That's what I meant.

@OP, since you're not planning on buying a better PSU, I'd say you should get the HD 6670.
ALSO: In India, where do you live ? I can get the HD 6670 for 4500INR from where I come from( Kerala). And that too, XFX version. Not sure of MSI though.

I'm from Kolkata. Here it seems to be a bit costly.
Today I opened my SMPS and calculated max power it can deliver. It has:
BYQ28E(10Ax3.3V=33Watts)
FCH30A(30Ax5V=150Watts)
SBL1040CT(10Ax12V=120Watts)
So I think it will be okey upto roughly 250-270 Watts without taxing it & I'll go with HD6750.

Almost all major components in a current PC get their power from the +12v rail and 10a/120w is insanely low. I'm not sure where you got those numbers from but they must be incorrect. If not you cannot use any video card and you are lucky the system is running at all.
