I am looking to upgrade the graphics card from a Radeon HD 5450 to the 6850, but the only issue I am thinking I will have it that I only have a PCIe 1.x x16 slot. Now I have read that theoretically you can have bottlenecking issues and compatibility issues with 2.1 cards in the 1.x slot. So my questions: #1. Will the 6850 be bottlenecked (or is bottlenecking only going to happen with say a 6990) & #2. Will I have compatibility issues with a ASUS M4N68T-M V2 motherboard?

System Specs:
OS: Win 7 64bit
Mobo: ASUS M4N68T-M V2
Graphics Card: Radeon HD 5450
RAM: 4GB DDR3
Processor: Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition (3.2GHz Quad-core)
PSU: 500W

You can check for support with the motherboard manufacturer. As long as the board and the card play nice you wont have to worry about "Bottlenecking" at all.
The slot version wont be a bottlenecking issue and most of them are backwards compatible, just need to check to be sure.
Its generally the CPU being too weak that causes any bottleneck/restriction issues, your CPU is fine.
