So I bought an HD 7570 on eBay and am using it with a used HP desktop running windows 7. The HP works just fine when running VGA only into the mobo with the gpu not inside, but it doesn't work when I add the 7570. I uninstalled the drivers for intel onboard graphics. I've tried connecting the GPU to one monitor with a VGA to DVI adapter and VGA cable, and I tried connecting it with Displayport only to an LG monitor. the gpu fans spin, but when the pc is turned on, there is nothing on the display.

Can someone help?

The card runs off of motherboard power, and it doesn't need a 6pin power connector. I know that both the card and the slot work because I put the card in a different system and it worked, and I put a Gtx 650 in the pcie slot and that worked as well.

The extra power connector does not matter if a power supply can run a card or not, it can still fail to run the card even off the PCIe slot power or be unstable.

If you already tested the card in another system, all that needs to be in the original post so we are not wasting time on things you already did.

Check for a newer BIOS for the computer. If another card works in this system, and the card works in another system with no issues, it may just be an incompatibility between the card and the motherboard. You may need to set the BIOS manually to use the add-on card as a default before installing the card.

The only bios update I could find hasn't made a difference, still no video on either of the monitors I've tested on.

You say you tested the card(7570) in another system but did you connect it to the same monitors in the same way? I ask because I see you mentioned using an adapter, and I'm thinking if you aren't using straight dvi to dvi or display port to display port cables, that might be the problem.

Well I only tried Displayport as a direct connection when the card was in another system, and that worked fine. I dont have a direct Dvi-i monitor, and i've been trying to use DP as a direct connection in the system that doesn't like the 7570. Is this something that I have to change in the bios for the system maybe? would it help if i buy a new mobo?

I would not bother for a old card like the 7570, why spend $50 and a spend time on replacing a motherboard to use a $40 card?

You said an nVidia 650 that you tried worked in the system, use that.

The 650 is being used in another system, I just took it out for testing purposes.
