SO $350 for the one card and $120 for 6 active adapters. For $470 dollars is this my best option? Like I said I just want to work and stop screwing around back and forth on cards.

You can, but I am not sure how is it going to work. I think you will have to buy 4 ACTIVE adapters, the first two you don't need, then the rest four monitors will need an active adapter. Like this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815309008
You don't need six active adapters, just four is enough. The first two monitors you don't need an active adapter.
ipwn,
I have a similar issue as ChrisTineBruce. I have a similar monitor issue but only two are activated and running, the other 4 are powered on and appear to be in a power saver mode. My Catalyst Control Center and Windows 7 64bit Control Panel register 6 monitors.
I too am a day trader and have upgraded from a 2 monitor to a 6 monitor set up. Here are my specs below:
Mother Board: Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H
Chipset: i7 Quad Core Ivy Bridge
Graphics Card: VisionTek Radeon HD 7750 eye6 PCIE 2GB GDDR5 TRILL
Monitors (x6): 24" LG Flatron E2442TC
750w Power Supply
Utilizing (x6) Dual Link DVI-D 10ft Cables (Rosewill)
Utilizing (x6) Kingwin MDP-3 DVI-D to MiniDisplay port Active Adaptors.
Again, CCC and Win7 Control Panel registers the monitors being plugged in, but only two turn on. What am I missing and where is my disconnect? I feel the problem might be simple, but then again I am not super savy with graphics cards. I was under the impression that everything fit so I should work. Good with stocks, but not building machines. Please advice.
