Radeon HD 7770... Help!!!

This noob needs to get his facts straight. While it is true that the HD7770 doesn't consume any more than 80w it would not be wise to run it on anything less than a 380w PSU. Go ahead and take his advice and get a HD7770 on a 300W psu and see how long it lasts -_-

I have it inside my HTPC with 300WATTS so keep your mouth shut .

the card comes with an adapter for the 6 pins plug.

HD7770 will work with your system.

I wouldn't recommend anything less than a 350w PSU for the Radeon HD 7770. The closer the PSU is working near it's maximum capacity, the shorter it's lifespan will become. The total wattage is a general number, what's more important is the amount of amps provided on the +12v rails since most of the power the PC draws is from the +12v rails.

You can be the following Corsair 430w PSU for $25 after rebate + $6 shipping.

There is also the Corsair 500w PSU for $40 after rebate + $6 shipping

Naturally opting for the 500w Corsair will give you extra headroom if you decide to upgrade to a more powerful graphics card in the future which also generally means higher power consumption.

please take a look at this

Measured power consumption HIS R7770
1.System in IDLE = 156W
2.System Wattage with GPU in FULL Stress = 229W
3.Difference (GPU load) = 73W
4.Add average IDLE wattage ~10W
5.Subjective obtained GPU power consumption = ~ 83 Watts

he has 300 watts it is enough

Guru3d.com also stated the following:

Above, a chart of relative power consumption. Again the Wattage shown is the card with the GPU(s) stressed 100%, showing only the peak GPU power draw, not the power consumption of the entire PC and not the average gaming power consumption.

Here is Guru3D's power supply recommendation:

Radeon HD 7770 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 450 Watt power supply unit.
Radeon HD 7770 Crossfire - On your average system the cards require you to have a 550 Watt power supply unit as minimum.

If you are going to overclock GPU or processor, then we do recommend you purchase something with some more stamina.
