Hey,

I've read a view threads here and elsewhere about this and can't seem to find something that helps.

I have a Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 OC set to the second BIOS switch.
I wanted to overclock it a little to get a little bit more lifetime out of my system.
GPU-Z info: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/details/w9493

I've tried to overclock with MSI Afterburner. Whenever I increase the Core clock (even by 1) the displayed core and memory clock drops to 300MHz and 150MHz respectively, heavy display artifacts occur and the Heaven Benchmark crashes. Setting it back to default values fixes it.

If you need anything else, just ask ;)

Thanks in advance and best regards :)

I managed to fix my issue.

tl;dr: Older windows, older driver.

The Windows 10 Creators Update forced me to go back to Windows 8.1 due to the fact that it completly rekt itself.
After getting some KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE errors with the most recent driver, I went back to 16.7.3 Crimson WHQL.
Now I can overclock it to a max 1111MHz on the core and 1650MHz on the memory.

Have a nice day! :)
