Question Radeon image sharpening on upscaled resolutions?

I have a 1080p monitor, I upscale to 1440p and 4k. Is there any point to using RIS? I've seen people say if you have a 4k monitor downscaled to 1440p that's where it shines.

It seems it may be useful depending on the game. Doesn't seem to be something commonly used when you upscale resolution.
