Radeon LE
7099 drivers

aperature size as asked for in my BIOS:
the card is 32mb so the aperature size gets set to 32mb?

Best performance from this card:
enable Hyper Z etc.. in the registry and then use Powerstrip for the rest of the settings?

These Radeon tweaker programs that are out arent to my liking.

Me thinks as soon as the NVIDIA ultra cards come down in price I'm gonna ditch this LE card.

I hope the prices drop to within a very reasonable range soon.

It is recommended to set your Aperture size to one half of your main memory. This memory setting just allows the graphics card to use that space if needed from your main memory. I have mine set at 256mb since I have 512mbs of ram. I recommend PowerStrip3.0 for unlocking HyperZ and for overclocking your Radeon. The tweakers may have more configurations but virtually all the additional settings where derived from Radeon Driver DLLs without accurate technical knowledge of feature which when used I've found either caused a slowdown or unstable system. In other words the default Radeon driver setup is usually the fastest and most dependable setting.

Are you really making a fair comparison comparing an ati radeon le ( about 90 bucks ) to a geforce ultra ( 300 - 350 )
At least give the radeon a chance and compare the 64 meg full retail vivo.

A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing!

I bought the Radeon LE ($77) as a cheaper alternative until the prices on the Ultra cards come well below the $300/$350 range.
No friggin way I'll pay that much for a video card.
So I wasnt comparing them as you seem to think ncognito.
Apples and oranges my friend.
Dont get me wrong. The LE is a great card for the money.
Just not what I want as my video card when all is said and done.
Maybe Radeon 64 is as good as ultra, dunno.
When the price is right I'll buy the best card whether its ATI Radeon 64 or a GF2 Ultra.
Didnt intend to hurt your ATI feelings.

Have a great Easter everyone!
