Not really, Radeon 3d drivers for linux is being done independently outside of ATI. Supposenly a 3d beta driver is available but few people if any are able to get it to work right in linux.

I've tried numerous times to get it to work. With Mandrake 7.2 and 8, Redhat 7.1, and SuSe 7.1. None of them ever worked with 3d properly. You can get the 2d to work but for now ATI hasn't got around to Linux.

You might want to keep an eye on this thread at rage3d.com, looks like Xfree 4.1 may have significant enhancement for the Radeon:

Now if 2d is not supported by the nvidia cards in Linux I am going to have a fit if it is only 3d accelerated.
