Hi guys,
Sapphire has already listed the specifications for the new Radeon 300 Series, so I pulled out the specs regardless the 360x and 260x for comparison and it says:

R7 360 2G D5:
768 Stream Processors
1060 MHz Engine Clock
150W !!

R7 260 2G D5:
896 Stream Processors
1050 MHz Engine Clock
<120W

Source

So basically the 360x has less processor units, consumes more power and has 10 MHz more?
I understand these cards will be just rebrands but they seem to be even worse than the previous generation.:??:
Is there anything I'm missing here or buying the 260x will be fine or even better?

Thanks

Not you, the OP. You laid out the new gen exactly right. OP missed the fact that the new card he is referencing is not a 360(x), but rather a non X version.
You have some of your facts confused, but yes - the current r7 360 appears less capable than the r7 260x. I do not see a 360x for sale yet, though I'm sure it would best the 260x in much the same way the other 3xx series cards have improved upon their direct ancestors. To be honest the improvements have been more significant than original reviewers have let on - power efficiency is up across the board and performance has improved noticeably as well.

That said, I just purchased an r7 260x new for $85(something I couldn't have done with any of the 300 cards) - I really would have liked the r7 370(updated r7 265), but the lack of GCN features compared to the 260/260x/360 was a dealbreaker for me despite the much better raw performance.

Take the time to research a little better and I'm sure you'll find the card that is right for you!

*sigh*
You don't use gpuboss to compare graphic cards, you have to look at actual benchmark numbers
