If your CPU is hitting 100c then it's going to be a short time before you need a new one. 70-75 is good, but I personally wouldn't let it run above 80c if it can be avoided. Most likely you can simply turn shadows down one notch and drop 5c off your temps. Long term running mid 80s+ is going to wear it down significantly faster. If you have the money and are thinking of upgrading then sure go for, get max use out of it until it dies.. if you can't upgrade for a while then just be a little careful. I have a 270x i'm replacing any minute now. I run it at 1130mhz which is a +100mhz base oc and have yet to see a single scenario where I had to hurt myself visually to cool the card when it start...
