Radeon R9 280 Features

First post here!
I've got a Club 3D Royal King series Radeon R9 280 (not 280x) and I've never built a PC before. There's a lot of AMD features for the R9 here like HD3D, APP acceleration, Crossfire, Catalyst, Zerocore Power, Powertune, GCN architecture, and Eyefinity here. Do I have to use an AMD processor/ motherboard to use these features? Or can anyone tell me which ones scream out as amazing features. I'm not interested in crossfire since I'll only use one graphics card.

Ideally I'd want to use a core i5 processor, if that's compatible/ optimal.

99% of that is marketing blurb mate - just ignore it.
& no a 280 will pair as well with an Intel build as it will with an amd one

Awesome, thank you very much. I was assuming most of it was just marketing words

a few of new feature won't be available to 280. for example FreeSync, True Audio and VSR.
