Hello. I am planning to buy a new gpu, currently having HD6850. GPU I am looking at is Gigabyte Radeon R9 280 OC, 3GB GDDR5 (384 Bit), HDMI, DVI, 2x miniDP.

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4991#ov

My question is, will my power supply be enough for it? I currently have Thermaltake TR2 RX 550w.

Minimal psu for that card on paper is 600w, though could this psu be enough for it? What are the risks/cons if the psu doesn't meet the required power supply?

Your parts (some blanks filled in) draw no more than 395 watts (conservative estimate with headroom)

In the title you say "x" in the thread you say 280 no x. Which is it?

Irrespective...550 is more than enough, no problem at all.

It's 280 OC, not really much into computers so not much of an idea about all those differences on gpus like ti, oc, x, etc. To be exact, the one I am buying is here - http://www.skytech.lt/gvr928wf3oc3gd-gigabyte-radeon-280-3gb-gddr5-384-bit-hdmi-dvi-minidp-p-185556.html

It's a website on my language, but you can pretty much understand which one it's, I guess.

With Radeon cards, the little "x" after the model is a BIG difference.

So the 280 is less powerful than a 280x.

Either way, you will have no trouble with power

What does OC next to it mean though? Overclocked? Also what are the risks if psu wouldn't be enough?

The PSU is enough but if it were too not enough it would cause shutdowns, blue screens, which means losing files or corrupting them.
Also, such violent shutdowns degrade hardware and can cause it to fail.

550W is more than enough, I have Sapphire R9 280 and while it is at it's max OC (1175) it is perfectly stable in FurMark and Unigine Heaven benchmark.
No shutdowns or whatever.

OC = Overclocked

The risk would be that the pc does not boot.

If it did and you drew loads in an intense 3d application (game) it would shutdown.

The thing is though...it is enough power, easily. Give me your full specs and I will show you why.

Alright, my current full spec is:

GPU HD6850
PSU: Thermaltake TR2 TX 550w (ATX 12V 2.3 version)
RAM: 8gb kingston hyper x.
CPU: i5 2500k 3,30 ghz x4 (Planning to OC to 4 Ghz, as had it in the past with no problems)
Motherboard: Asrock z77 extreme 4
