http://www.game-debate.com/hardware/?gid=1858&graphics=Radeon%20R9%20290X. Here it writes that r9 290x reccomended ram is 12 gb. I have and 8 gb ram and im uprgrading from my 550 ti to r9 290x. And was wondering am i okay with this 8 gb of ddr3 or should i get 12?

8gb is fine. Your system ram doesn't affect your GPU in any big way. It will only limit you when gaming and 8gb is more than enough for gaming.

The 290X is very similar to the price of a GTX 970. That's a much better card.
