Hello, I just bought a new computer and tried to install the R9 Sapphire graphics card but my computer will no recognize the card. Nothing in the device manager aside from the intel HD graphics that came with the system. When I go to the bios through win 8.1 and mouse over the pci slot where the graphics card is it says nothing is there. It is hooked to a 600w PS, the fan turns on the card normal, just nothing seems to be recognized by windows. My motherboard is a Z87-G41 PC Mate. Its a newly built computer. I have used the disc that came with the computer for the drivers, also I tried using the Sapphiretech.com website for drivers.. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
thank you,
Sara Willette

1. make sure monitor is plugged into the card, and not motherboard video outputs. it's silly but it happens to the best of us
2. make sure card is fully seated. very common.
3. make sure PCI-E power is connected (if not it should sound an alarm I would think)
4. do you have any video at all? if not, verify #1 and reseat RAM. If so, try going to amd.com and downloading catalyst drivers.
5. if still having issues, you might have a faulty card. or motherboard.

Wait.. I just noticed something in your posting. You said the computer won't recognize your card in Windows 8.1, right? If it doesn't see the card then how can you see anything on your screen. The only thing I can think of is.. after installing the card... you plugged your monitor into the old graphics port attached to the motherboard. You need to unplug that and plug it directly into the new card you bought... assuming that's the problem.

Also make sure you go into BIOS and change your display from the Integrated onboard video to PCI Express slot.
