Question Radeon Rx 5700 XT Performance Issues

Hey guys

So I got myself a Radeon Rx 5700 XT and I'm having some issues with performance.

In some games (Borderlands 3, Rage 2, Metro Exodus, Control) I get very good frame rates AND when I change my settings from ultra to medium, my frame rates increase dramatically like you'd expect.

The problem is with games such as (The Outer Worlds, Far Cry 5, Greed Fall) I'm getting average frame rates AND when I change the settings for these games from Ultra to Low, I don't get a single frame extra.

This is shouldn't be happening right? What's going on here? Is the card faulty or what?

Anyway, I'd really appreciate anyone's help with this!

My Rig:

Core i7 4790
MSI 970 Gaming Mobo
Sapphire Pulse Radeon 5700 XT
16 GB RAM

Side note:

I've checked other people running the same rig as I am getting much better performance. There is like a 20% bottleneck between the GPU/CPU, but still my frames should increase if I decrease image quality.

did you check cpu usage on those game?

Hey thanks for the reply! But I should still be getting higher frame rates when I switch settings to low on those games, even if the CPU is being bottlenecked...

not if the cpu is the issue. if cpu work 100%, lowering the gpu don't help.
