[SOLVED] Radeon RX 590 Fatboy 8GB Compatibility

Hello,
I built a computer many years ago using:
Motherboard: MSI PH67A-C43
Processor: Intel i7-2600K @ 3.4GHz
memory: Corsair 8GB DD3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560

Everything works great - until my kid wants to play a new game with more graphics requirements. So, I purchased a Radeon RX 590 Fatboy 8GB card that produces no signal.
Both power supplies are correctly connected (both LEDs are blue).
I upgraded the BIOS to the latest (August of 2012)
Using the HDMI output to a new monitor (the monitor works with the old graphics card and a VGA cable)

Am I just trying to use too new a graphics card for the motherboard? Any suggestions?
Thank you very much!

Solution
I suspect the RX 590 is not compatible with your motherboard's old style BIOS (not UEFI) and will not work in this system.

Also, what is the make/model of your PSU?

Do you have access to a newer system to test the GPU in?

Hello,
The psu is a Thermaltake TR2 RX 750 watt.
I do not have access to test it in something newer.
I am not sure, but I think it does have the UEFI Bios. It has a graphic menu not like the traditional DOS bios.

If my motherboard isn't compatible, is it worth replacing the motherboard for something newer but still keep the old socket so I can keep the i7 processor I have, or... get a GPU that is compatible with what I have? If I need to replace the GPU, any recommendations?
Thank you!

Agreed, it does have an early UEFI style BIOS.

It would still appear to be a compatibility issue, if the RX 590 works. The PSU should be adequate.

I would not just change the motherboard. If you are going to go to the trouble, you should consider upgrading to a more modern CPU/mobo/memory combo. Just a suggestion.
