It looks like there's a Gigabyte leak for the new 6600 XT and I looked on the leaderboard and couldn't find where the 6600 XT sits (I guess it's brand new and so it's a surprise).

It seems like the MSRP is a lot more affordable, so I was wondering how much of a noticed improvement between the 6600 XT vs 6700 XT.

I'm guessing if I stick to 1080p that it's like a 6700 xt-level card performance-wise if I stick at 1080p more or less? Navi 22 vs Navi 23, I'm guessing the higher number is slower.

I'm still waiting for a 6700 XT so my bet is that 6600 XT would still be a great card.

Of course it will be slower than the RX 6700XT. By how much? That's an unknown until reviewers are relieved of their NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) near or on the release date. However, with an MSRP of $379, you can expectedly place it in between the RTX 3060 at $329 (which is on par with the RX 5700XT) and the RX 6700 XT $479.

The RX 6700XT is about 20% faster than the RTX 3060. Best guess is the RX 6600XT will be closer to the 3060 in performance than it would be the 6700XT, but hopefully splitting the difference by a decent margin.

Nvidia did something we don't normally see with their mid-range card, they gave it more vram than other mid-range cards as well as more than Nvidia's own higher-tier RTX 3060 Ti, 3070, and 3070 Ti. They...

They gave it 12GB of vram. That will allow the 3060 more performance headroom than the 6600XT 8GB down the road when games begin to utilize more than 8GB of vram. Some games already do that. However, will AMD make the 6600XT fast enough to compensate for that?

Ah you're right I could see the memory potentially bottlenecking next-gen if the memory speed isn't fast enough. Thanks for the kind reply! I appreciate it a lot.

Definitely a lot to think about. Get a 6600XT if it's actually in stock, but realizing I should still be trying to actually get at least a 6700XT. Hopefully we're close to them coming back in stock. 🤞
