Hi there, Firstly i appreciate that this has been discussed on numerous other forum entries and there are numerous guides online to fixing the issue but I have tried them all and nothing works. Its a new build specs as follows:

CPU: Ryzen 7 1800x
Mobo: GA-AX370 K7 Gaming
Ram: G-skill F4-2400C16-16GFXR
GPU: Radeon RX 480 8gb
OS SSD: Samsung 950 pro 512 GB
PSU: Corsair 750 gold

Whats the problem: following clean install of graphics drivers when clicking on Radeon settings I get an error message saying "Radeon settings are currently unavailable. Please try again after connecting AMD graphics". In the device manager the display driver is showing an error 43 code and says the driver has been stopped due to an issue.

What I have tried so far:
- Safe mode, uninstall drivers using DDU, restart in normal mode fresh install or latest AMD drivers (tried Adrenaline and Crimson drivers neither work)
- Safe mode, uninstall drivers via device manager, let windows install latest drivers.
- Advanced start mode, disable enforce driver signatures, uninstall drivers using both windows device manager and DDU, clean install of latest drivers.
- same steps as above for the uninstall then use Driver Talent to locate and attempt to fix driver issues - interestingly Driver Talent recommends a much older Crimson driver 17.7.2. Doesnt work though...

I am literally pulling my hair out. never had such epic driver issues and its eaten up most of my weekend. Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers,
Chris

one more thing to note, I am currently utilising a HDMI to DVI cable although unsure if that is relevant as the message seems to indicate that the driver is not recognising the card as an AMD Graphics card.

OK - no answers from the community but for anyone looking for a solution here is my temporary fix:

Windows 10 update service attempts to update the graphics driver to a version that doesn't seem to be compatible with my system. I too have been unable to get the last version of Crimson to work or the new Adrenaline drivers by doing the instal manually after cleaning the system with DDU, so have contacted AMD about this and await a response. My short term fix is as follows:

1. change windows protocols to stop windows update from downloading drivers (need windows 10 pro). Steps for this are as follows:

1) Run "gpedit.msc" > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Device Installation > Device Installation Restrictions > "Prevent installation of devices that match any of these device IDs" 2) Enter the device ID of the device for which you don't want any updates to be installed. The device ID can be found trough Device Manager > [your device] > Properties > Details > Hardware IDs.

2. in safe mode uninstall all previous versions of AMD drivers using DDU.

3. restart system in normal mode and install drivers. I have had to roll back significantly, the only driver I have found to be working correctly and giving me all of the features is Non-WHQL-Win10-64Bit-Radeon-Software-Crimson-16.10.3-Oct27

For the moment this driver is working and allowing me to get my new system set up in the meantime while I wait for AMDs response. If anyone has experience getting the RX 480 to work on a more up to date driver it would be much appreciated if you could respond.

Cheers
