I am having the following problem with a new PC I am building. It enters standby mode fine, but when it resumes from standby it mostly simply shows the blue desktop (no icons or start bar) and a white mouse cursor that moves but does nothing else. Sometimes it just freezes with a black screen after showing the "Hyundia DDR with DLL PAL Bios" message. It has very rarely resumed correctly. Hibernate works fine, as done shutdown and restart.

HARDWARE:
Gigabyte GA-7DXR
Crucial PC2100 DDR 256MB x2
Radeon VE 32MB DDR
IBM Deskstar 75GXP 30 GB x2 (Raid 0)
SparklePower 430W PSU
MS Natural Pro Keyboard
MS Intellimouse Explorer

SOFTWARE:
ATI Radeon driver 5.13.01.3102
AMD AGP Miniport driver v5.2.2.2195
VIA 4-in-1 drivers v4.32
Windows 2000 Professional + Service Pack 2
Gigabyte bios 7DXR-F5

Any suggestions/ideas/comments welcomed.

Thanks

Allan

if everything else is working well, count your blessings and just disable standby mode.....todays pcs dont really need it as they consume relatively little power and with adequate cooling should never overheat. many people have problems with standby mode. get rid of it

ignore everything i say
