Hello. I have two 750gb hdd's in my build and i was thinking about using RAID 0. However, on one hdd i have all my games and most of my programs, and on the second hdd i have a lone folder named IDE which contains another folder named Common7 and in there yet another folder called IDE, which contains 10 or so dll files all starting with Microsoft.VisualStudio.vsp.
If i go RAID 0 does it delete the IDE folder or not? And do i even need that folder?

Thanks in advance
Gaarden

Going to raid 0 means the raid controller will format both drives causing you to lose everything on them. There no need to worry if you need specific folders, you don't get to pick and chose; and theres no need to delete anything first.

- both harddrives will be wiped clean, merged to act as 1 larger harddrive, and then you get to resintall absolutely everything - beginning with windows. So make sure you have all your drivers download and available on something like a flash drive.

You will also need to have a backup plan in place for your important files. Should either harddrive fail then you will lose any and everything stored on both harddrives. Heck - even if one drive hiccups you could lose all your stuff...

I have windows installed on an ssd :)

Ok, thats great news! But assuming that the ssd is on the same controller as the other drives, when you change its mode to Raid windows on the SSD will no longer boot up since its missing the raid drivers. There is a way to change the driver before you switch to raid mode though.
