I just bought 2x Samsung 1tb F3's and put them in raid 0. I get around 200-250 mb/s average transfer rates with 2.5k burst.

How is it possible that my fraps performance hasn't increased at all? My previous HD was a seagate barracuda that scored around 80-90 mb/s. What am I doing wrong?

On my barracuda I could fraps 1280x720 at 60 fps, on my raid 0 setup (that has over double speed) it isn't increased at all, or only goes to around 70 fps. I can't even record 720p @ 90 fps.

:(

edit: I don't know if it matters, but I split my raid 0 into two volumes, one 200 gig 64k stripe for OS, rest into 128k stripe.

A lot of games read everything they need from the disk into memory when they start up and once they're running they really don't use the disk much, if at all. Those types of games will probably start up a little faster, but they won't actually run any faster once they've been loaded no matter how fast a disk subsystem you get.
