RAID 0 going bad. Last "good" backup failed. Last -1 "good" backup is pretty old.
Tried various packages to do a salvage backup. Some wouldn't work at all. Some made partial backups. On one I hope that I screwed up the options, and would like to try again.
Anyway, I spent some time trying to get rid of the bad blocks while the RAID was running. Eventually I had to run chkdsk separately on each drive. One drive was fine. On the other chkdsk wouldn't run. Was planning a binary search to narrow down the problems. After creating two partitions, chkdsk found several correctable errors on one.
I'd like to re-RAID the disks and get a clean backup. I've tried a couple packages that see the RAID as a 2TB drive with 2 1TB partitions.
Any ideas of a package that could just ignore the files that had the bad blocks?
Thanks.
