Raid 1 problem

Hi

I have an XP PC with 2 80gb SATA Hard drives configured in raid 1
WE recently had a power cut and now when I start the pc it goes
to load windows but i only get a black screen
I looked at the raid Configuration and the status says
raid degraded
but both drives are giving a status of Normal

I disconnected each drive and tried to boot of them individually
but still get the black screen.
It gets to "Run Windows Normally / Safe mode" screen etc but
then just stays at a black screen

The raid controller is Intel Raid for Serial ATA 3.5.0.2568

I'm not that familiar with raid
Wondering what my next step should be
The Config I screen just gives 4 options which aren't of any use

Create Raid Volume
Delete Raid Volume
Reset Disks to Non Raid
Exit

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you tried a repair install using your XP disk?

Also, this is a good time to point out that raid is not a substitute for backups.
