Raid 10 with different drives (sshd & hdd)

Hello everyone!
I read many topics but couldn't really find any answer, so here I am!

I currently have three Seagate st1000dx001 (sshd), and I want to create a Raid 10 array with them. Obviously I need a fourth disk for that. Can I use a regular hdd for that? (I was thinking the Seagate ST1000DM003) or will that create issues with the sshd?

Other possibility: create a Raid 5 instead. I'm not too concerned with speed, it's mostly for storage and for some documents (word, excel, etc.). Games and OS are on dedicated SSD. What's important for me really is protecting my data.
For the curious ones: they were system drives on two computers (+1 game drive), that were replaced with ssd. Otherwise, I'd have bought regular hdd.

It would be best to get the same one. I don't know how well SSHD's work in RAID's since i have not used them in RAID's. If you had a non SSHD laying around i would say go ahead and try it at least but if you are going to buy one best to make them all the same.

Turns out, I should've checked my drives before posting. So, I actually have 2 sshd (the st1000dx001) and one regular (st1000dm003 - from the second computer).
If I were to buy another 003, would it be possible to use the two sshd for one "block" of the raid 10 array, and the two hdd (003) for the mirroring pair? Or is it impossible and I should sell it and get two sshd instead? (Not super confident about selling a hdd tbh)
Last solution: raid 1 and that's it.

Honestly getting a 003 should be fine. Just make sure in the RAID 10 the SSHD are one RAID 1 and the HDD is the other RAID 1 when you set it up.

I have mixed and matched drives in the past in RAID just not a SSHD. I have heard of people doing a RAID 1 of a SSD and HDD in the past without issues but it is kinda pointless as everything slows to the speed of the HDD lol you just won't get to use the fast casheing of the SSHD in the RAID

It should work but not optimal as it should, but again you do not care about the speed, so it won't be an issue with it

Thank you all for your replies. I bought a 003 (hdd), and I'm going to build the raid this weekend. I'll come back to post the results once done.

So, I created the Raid 10 (0+1) and so far, it's working fine. I wasn't able to choose which discs would go in which array, but I tried plugging them in on the MoBo to force that (not sure it worked). Bottom line: so far so good.

A note of advice for Windows users: if you're planning on possibly ever getting raid in your system, make sure to select RAID as the Sata mode BEFORE installing Windows. Otherwise, it won't boot (yes, even if your system is not installed on the raid array, as I found out the hard way).

Glad to hear things are good.

As far as the RAID/SATA/AHCI that isn't as big of a deal as people thing it is. There are Registry edits you can make before you switch the settings and have it boot properly.
