Hey Folks,
For backup purposes I want to write my Data to a External Raid 6. I need at least a 5-Bay Solution, 7 or 8 depending on pricing would be OK too.
I ask myself If a Thecus / Qnap NAS is overkill for that, since I'm gonna switch it on max. once every two weeks.
On the other hand I do not see any other hardware on the market which gives me that 5-Bay RAID 6 feature.
So my question is for one, do you know of other than NAS solutions for that (I'm not gonna build it myself with some old case and mobo and RAID 5 is not an option)?
If not is the Thecus N5550 a viable solution in terms of future Upgradability since it supports only SATAII and atm. I think max. 4TB Hdds?
