raid and ata100 controller

hello, i have an adaptec ata100 raid pci card now. but i was wondering if i could add an ata100 controller card as well? i have an ata33 mb and i'm getting a new ata100 drive for the OS. just wanted to know if there would be any kind of conflicts or anything with the 2 cards. thanks.

They are most likely going to assign the same IRQ. It's going to either assign to 10, 11, or 12. If you do install both of them with no problems the next problem that I usually see is trying to boot to a spacfic device. May have boot issues for example if you want to boot to the drive on the standard ATA100 controller and it's trying to boot to the RAID ATA100 instead. That's most likely because of the IRQ assignments and the RAID controller has a lower IRQ...
