RAID config easy question

Here's an easy one if you know and not if you don't.

When stting up my two HDDs in RAID 0, do I put them on seperate channels as master, or the same channel as master & slave? Does it matter?

You can do it either way, but the way to get best performance is to set them both as master and put them in separate channels.

Te entire purpose of RAID 0 is to have all the drives sending data simultaneously. A master and a slave cannot work at the same time. I guess this is your answer.

No, it'll work, but at a lower performance. How can you do 4 drives in a RAID 0 if you can't do master/slave?

Well, yes, it will work. But yes, with much lower performance. I would argue that setting up a RAID array of more than two drives on a controller that has only two IDE channels is a waste. Wanna go serious RAID? Purchase a serious RAID controller then. Something like Escalade.
