My server has raid10 for Volume 1 and Raid1 for Volume 0. The disks are installed in that order (i.e. Volume 1 is in lower port numbers). Anyway, one of my Volume1 disks died, and now it won't boot, even though Volume 0 has the OS and is flagged as bootable. Maybe Volume 1 contained the MBR? Can this be fixed with less than a full re-install? If I remove all four Volume 1 drives, it still won't boot.

What's the error message?

In RAID 10 single drive failure doesn't make you loose data. Replace faulty drive and repair the raid.

I don't get an error. The ICH7R raid utility just says "Volume 1 - failure" and the good drive in the volume shows "unconnected" or something similar. The utility only supports "create" and "delete" functions. No hint at repair/replacement options.
