i bought 4/5 years ago my asus z170 maximus viii hero witch has one only m.2 slot. now i'm wandering i could anyways configure 2 nvme ssds in raid 0 and boot into it; the first one in the m.2 slot of the motherboard and the second one in the third pcie slot (pcie x4 gen3) with an adapter like the asus hyper m.2 v2. speaking of asus hyper m.2 v2, i can't uderstand why i have an option in the bios called like that (hyper m.2 x16 v2 enable or disable).

Solution
but the hyper m.2 v2 is a pcie nvme adapter, not sata
Yes, I know.

"i can't uderstand why i have an option in the bios called like that (hyper m.2 x16 v2 enable or disable). "
The option is there to potentially do a RAID between 2 compatible devices.

Can you do it between a drive in the M;.2 port and one in a PCIe adapter? Maybe. Don't think so, though.
