Hello

Just set up my RAID 0 for first time (using two 120GB OCZ Vertex 3 Max IIOPS SSD's). Problem is its not much faster than my old single OCZ Vertex 2. Using HD Tune i get average benchmark totals for reads at 252MB/s for the Array and about 217 MB/s for the vertex 2. my vertex3 running alone shows comparable averages to my Raid array My HDD shows about 100MB/s which is probably normal so shouldnt my array show something like 350 or 400MB/s? Using the Marvel 9128 SATA3 controller on my Gigabyte x58A UD3R mobo version 1.0. All drivers, firmware and bios updated. Anyone know what my problem is? Anyone running something similar and if so could u share your performance with me? cheers

Figured it out on my own. Marvell Chip on this board uses a PCIe x1 so will ever reach the speeds of a sata3 device. Need to buy a pci express card using atleast 4x PCIe lanes

There is a such a card from HPT RR-6xx series.... That is even worst. They tights 2x of 9128 to a 2 to 4x PCIe multiplexer chip set.... That introduces even more latency
